The Challenge

When a major industrial project sought to transform a developing economic zone into a thriving hub, it recognized a crucial challenge—understanding the aspirations and expectations of the local youth. To ensure its recruitment strategies and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs aligned with the community’s needs, the company turned to Arabian Research Bureau (ARB) for insights.

The project aimed to create employment opportunities and invest in local talent. However, without a clear understanding of the youth’s career aspirations, education levels, and employment preferences, there was a risk of a mismatch between job offerings and community expectations.

Our Approach

ARB designed a multi-phase research approach to uncover the mindset of young individuals in the region. The study combined qualitative and quantitative methods to capture both the emotional and statistical depth of the community’s perspectives.

Exploratory Research with Focus Groups

ARB conducted multiple focus group discussions, engaging young males and females, parents, and educators. These discussions explored career aspirations, attitudes toward education, and perceptions of local industrial projects.

Validating Insights through Face-to-Face Interviews

To ensure accuracy, ARB carried out more than 300 structured face-to-face interviews across various communities. The study analyzed generational differences in career outlooks and assessed the impact of existing job opportunities.

Data-Driven Hypothesis Testing

ARB tested multiple hypotheses regarding employment expectations, online engagement habits, and career planning. Using statistical analysis, the team identified which insights held true across different demographic segments.

The Results

The study uncovered valuable insights into the mindset of the local youth, highlighting their career aspirations, attitudes toward education, and perceptions of economic opportunities. Key findings revealed differences in how young people viewed job prospects, the role of education in their future, and their engagement with industrial developments in the region.

The research also provided a deeper understanding of how the community accessed information and the factors influencing their career decisions. These insights became a crucial foundation for shaping recruitment strategies and CSR initiatives that aligned with the needs and expectations of the local population.
